GANG SHOW 2010 AMAZING FACTS

  • A record 283 cast members from 5 to 20 years of age both Scouts and Guides



  • Nearly 240 hours spent learning lines, perfecting songs and doing dance routines



  • Over 5 months of rehearsing time



  • At least 28 songs, dances and sketches – that’s more than two west end musicals



  • Around 5000 items in the Gangshow wardrobe knitted, sewn or stuck together by parents and leaders



  • Biggleswade Gangshows started in 1975



  • Scout Gangshows began in London in 1932 as the brainchild of impresario Ralph Reader



  • Around 50% of British women have been part of the Guides at some point in their lives



  • You can join the Guides at the age of five and continue for the rest of your life.



  • The Guide Movement started 100 years ago in 1910 and now boasts half a million active members



  • 38 leaders and 12 backstage adults keep the show together plus a lighting and sound team who make sure the show can be seen and heard by everyone
